The Oyo hub starts online classes

The Oyo hub of the Rural Youth Employment Opportunities: Support to Integrated Agribusiness Hubs in Nigeria (IFAD-Agrihub) has commenced the first phase of the training activities for beneficiaries of the project.  The first two weeks of the training which is online is to provide some orientation to the beneficiaries and introduce them to the basics of agribusiness.

After the online classes, the beneficiaries will resume their practical sessions at the Oyo state-IITA Youth Agribusiness Park centre in Awe. Pilot enterprises test and refining of modernized agricultural technologies will be demonstrated to the youth  and the wider agricultural community in a manner that allows them to quickly identify areas of interest along the value chain. .

The hub offer beneficiaries an array of trainings along the value chain of cassava, greenhouse vegetable production, poultry, animal husbandry and alternative green energy.

Other tailored trainings will educate and capacities beneficiaries on how to start or grow their business to overcome the challenges faced by entrepreneurs or get more employable. The curriculum focuses on hands-on practical in the hub and attached to agribusiness firms for repetitive learning that is useful even long after the training period.
